The first journey this year takes us once again to the region of Provence in southern France. Just a year ago I was in the west of Provence with Angela and Nikita, and this time we shall visit the eastern section. Our destination is the area around the Cote d’Azur, not far from the Italian border. For decades this part of the country has enjoyed an international reputation as the holiday destination of the rich and the beautiful: names like Monaco, Nice, Cannes and St Tropez are legendary. However, away from the sophisticated but also overcrowded coastline, which has largely been devoured by construction work, there is a wonderful hinterland which will provide us with a variety of fascinating locations for our work.
Originally Anna Maria and Anita were planned as the models for this trip, with Betty as makeup artist. But when Anita cancelled at the last minute I decided to offer her place to Betty, who will now perform the two roles of model and makeup artist. Consequently, this time we are a very small team: only four people, including my assistant Monika.
The trip will last a total of five days, three of which
are scheduled as working days. However, as
traveling involves only a short flight from Vienna
to Nice, we may well be able to do some work on
the first and last days as well. I have planned the
schedule in such a way that we are as flexible as
possible and will be able to make the best of
whatever comes along!
