I have again chosen the Canary Islands as the destination for our first trip this year; we were last there in autumn 2006, with Monika, Leslie and Denise. On this occasion too we will spend four working days on two different islands.
Our first destination is the desert-like island of Fuerteventura, with its fantastic beaches which helped us to achieve outstanding results last time. We shall then move on to the neighbouring island of Lanzarote, which we did not see on our last visit; the countryside here, characterised by its volcanic history, forms an extremely interesting contrast to Fuerteventura. In the early 18th century a huge volcanic eruption completely transformed the appearance of the whole island. This was of course a terrible catastrophe for the people at that time, but on the positive side it created one of the most spectacular landscapes in Europe, which will provide an exciting and dramatic backdrop for our models.
