Location details

Rock Basin on the Orb

The journey(s):

GPS*: 43.4383°, 3.0928°

The Orb is one of the biggest rivers in the Languedoc region and, for the most part, not particularly interesting. But not far from the village of Murviel-les-Beziers there is a place where the river forms a very pretty basin set in light-colored rocks. In places here the water is so deep that you can even dive into it from the cliffs! A short distance upstream from the bridge which carries the D36 road over the Orb there is a large car park which provides easy access to this place.
