The Toulourenc is only a small river, but it has been strong enough to dig out a fairly large and extremely impressive ravine in the soft limestone of Provence. The ravine can be reached by car at two places, but the vast majority of it is only accessible by foot. The path which winds along the bottom of the ravine constitutes an adventurous undertaking, since you have to wade through the water for most of the time, and at some spots it is waist high. Nevertheless, it is not dangerous, since there are no rapids or waterfalls in the river, and it isn't even necessary to take any special equipment: canyoning for beginners!
